Summary

OpenMusicIn has no server, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing about you is collected, sold or shared by its developer.

Two things do leave your device, and both are described in full below: an artist name and release title sent to Apple's and Deezer's public catalogue searches to find a matching release, and — only if you have Chrome Sync switched on — your own settings, replicated by Chrome through your Google account.

What the extension reads

On album, track and artist pages of the six supported streaming services — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, TIDAL, Deezer and Amazon Music — the extension reads two things from the page you are looking at:

• the artist name
• the album or track title

It reads nothing else from the page, and it runs on no other website.

What is sent off your device

To find the same release on Apple Music and Deezer, the artist name and title are sent as an ordinary catalogue search to:

• itunes.apple.com — Apple's public catalogue search
• api.deezer.com — Deezer's public catalogue search

These requests contain only the artist name, the title and a country code. They carry no identifier, no account information and no cookies. Apple and Deezer handle them under their own privacy policies.

Nothing is sent anywhere else. Buttons for Spotify, TIDAL, YouTube Music and Amazon Music open a search link in a new tab; no request is made to those services by the extension itself.

What is stored, and where

Everything is stored locally in your browser:

• Your settings — which services you subscribe to, the display toggles, and

the storefront country. Stored with Chrome's synced extension storage. If you have Chrome Sync switched on, Chrome replicates these settings through your own Google account so they follow you between your devices; that copy is handled by Google under your account, not by us. They are never sent to the extension's developer, and there is no server belonging to this extension.

• Dismissed banners and cached lookups — kept only until you close the

browser, then discarded.

No browsing history is recorded. There is no record of which pages you visited or which links you followed.

Third parties

The extension uses no analytics, no advertising, no error reporting and no third-party libraries that phone home.

Changes

Any change to what is read, sent or stored will be reflected in this document and in the extension's Chrome Web Store data-use disclosure before it ships.
